![]() Dysmantle has a high-level of difficulty at first, with most monsters able to easily kill the player characters. They will have to adjust what they're wearing if they wind up in a place that's too hot or too cold, but for the most part the gameplay revolves around smashing things to get crafting items to make new weapons that can in turn smash more things.ĭysmantle definitely has some Minecraft influence, but it also takes some cues from the Dark Souls series. RELATED: Returnal Ascension Update Adding Co-Op and New Game Mode is Out Nowĭysmantle's survival game elements aren't hugely oppressive, so players don't have to worry about eating regularly or drinking water. Players have to stay within the same camera shot, so it's a little restrictive, but they're given enough room to roam that it rarely becomes an issue. The game uses a top-down view for the most part, but the camera can be adjusted to give players a better look at whatever area they're exploring. Two players can explore the island together, sharing upgrades and stats, while able to equip gear independently of each other. One such developer is 10tons, who recently brought its Dysmantle game to consoles, and it's something that local co-op gamers should definitely check out when they get the chance.ĭysmantle is a survival game set on a large island that's been ravaged by monsters. There is still a huge market for local co-op gaming experiences, however, and various developers have stepped up to meet those demands. Go play it.With the rise of online gaming, local co-op options have become fewer and farther between. I'm in no way affiliated with the developers of this game, just hooked, hyped and surprised there is so little talk about it. I loved SOD2 in singleplayer a lot, though.Īt $20 it's a bargain and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you have someone to play it on shared screen. While less serious it's everything I wished for State of Decay 2 Multiplayer wise. ![]() In the beginning my gf died rather often with me finishing the difficult fights alone but this allready evened out. If one player dies the other can either fight on or run to respawn the other at the camp. There is room for tactics but you don't necessarily need any except for the bosses and some special enemies. Shared loot, shared progress everything only needs to be crafted once. But on the other hand there is an end to the game and apparently only a little endgame so it won't ruin our lifes for too long□ The mix of looting, fighting, exploring and crafting is quite addictive. There is cooking but it's only for buffs and is totally optional. There are tons of camps to respawn at and store your stuff and the only penalty for dying is losing your loot which can be reobtained quite quickly. While being moderately complex it's actually very laid-back and forgiving. Just so you got somewhere to place us.ĭysmantle is a top-down open world zombie action rpg that let's you dismantle and loot pretty much everything with a variety of skills and stuff to craft in a huge world with tons of quests, both main and side, and other stuff to explore. The games we previously spent the most time on together were Dead Nation, Diablo 3 and Ark (100 hours of Ark in split screen on Xbox one. Please keep in mind I'm hyped atm and this is far from a real review. After two days and like 10 hours in, we both absolutely love the game. Click here for a list of other gaming subreddits.
